Strategic senior appointment enhances South of England expansion plans
CARTER Burnett is delighted to have appointed experienced Costs Advocate Matt Core to strengthen our strategic expansion plans in the South of England.
With more than 21 years’ experience in the legal costs sector, Matt brings extensive expertise in case management, costs budgeting and complex negotiations. He is widely regarded for his ability to build trusted client relationships and for providing clear, confident guidance throughout the litigation process.
It is just over a year since we launched in the South West with the appointment of senior Costs specialist Nick Northrop, and Matt's addition marks the next phase of our growth.
Commenting on the appointment, Director Lee Carter said: “Matt is an exceptional negotiator and a highly skilled advocate, and we are delighted to welcome him to the team. His experience, professionalism and client‑focused approach align perfectly with our values and the service standards we are committed to delivering.
“Our growth in the South over the past year has been extremely encouraging, and Matt’s arrival represents another significant step in strengthening our regional offering. Together with the expertise Nick has already brought to the business, Matt will play an important role in supporting our clients and driving our continued expansion.”
A highly capable advocate, Matt has a strong track record of representing clients in court, engaging directly with judges and delivering robust and well‑reasoned submissions.
Speaking about his new role, Matt said: “I am thrilled to be joining Carter Burnett at such an exciting stage in its growth. The firm has built an excellent reputation for quality and integrity, and I look forward to contributing to that success.
“My focus will be on supporting the continued development of our South West presence, strengthening relationships with solicitors and clients, and bringing my advocacy experience to the team. I’m eager to help build on the strong foundations already in place and play a part in the firm’s next chapter.”
