Thanks to continued growth and an increasing caseload, we are on the expansion trail again and looking to recruit an experienced Costs professional to join us in the New Year.

By helping claimant solicitors and law firms to successfully navigate the world of costs management and recovery, we have earned a national reputation for our precise and accurate approach.

To improve the quality and efficiency we provide for our clients, we are keen to hear from applicants with a background in Costs – including Costs Lawyers, Law Costs Consultants or an experienced Costs Draftsperson.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of Costs management claims for complex clinical negligence and personal injury cases. They will also need experience of drafting bills and budgets and be able to prepare detailed costs pleadings, such as a Bill of Costs or Precedent H.

A detailed understanding of procedural rules, case law and the formatting standards required when submitting documents to court is essential.

With offices located in Beverley, Newcastle, Manchester and Exeter; the role would be perfect for a candidate near to these locations, although we would consider a fully remote arrangement for the right person.

Experience & qualifications required

  • Proficient in costs management claims - clinical negligence & personal injury

  • Relevant legal qualifications - Costs Lawyer or equivalent experience

  • Experience with complex cost litigation and detailed assessment hearings

  • Strong skills in drafting of legal costs documentation

  • Experience in preparing bills of costs and costs budgets

  • Legal research skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and remotely
