Jason Hatto
Costs Draftsman
Always friendly and a great communicator, Jason has quickly developed into an excellent Costs Draftsman since joining us in 2021.
He enjoys being part of a supportive team where everyone is happy to offer advice, and he takes great satisfaction from helping clients receive the recognition their hard work deserves once a case is settled. Having earned a BA (Hons) Degree in Criminology from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2011, Jason went on to develop valuable communication and people skills in a retail role before starting his legal career.
What are your main interests or hobbies?
It’s safe to say that I’m sports mad and love to stay fit and active. I enjoy playing as a central midfielder for Brandesburton Veterans FC and try to run 10km as often as possible. In summer, you’ll probably find me on the golf course or watching cricket.
What music do you like – any specific genre or artists?
I like listening to Jamie T, Panic at The Disco, Mayday Parade and Blink 182 but I’m not someone who stays up to date with the latest artists unless I hear it on the radio.
What’s your favourite food?
I do like a medium-rare steak or spicy Mexican dishes like chilli, fajitas or a burrito.
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
I do like to travel and usually arrange three or four trips a year. Valencia and Budapest are definitely up there with my favourites but I also love America. Before starting my career in Costs, I travelled around the US quite a bit so I’ve been to the Yosemite National Park, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Jose, San Diego and Mexico.
What film or boxset would you recommend to others?
My favourite film is Lucky Number Slevyn, a crime thriller about a guy who gets caught in a mob war between two rival New York crime bosses. TV wise, I really like crime dramas like Dexter and True Detective.
Which smartphone App could you not live without?
WhatsApp or Facebook for keeping up to do with my friends and family.
Who would you most like to meet and why?
As a big golf fan, it would probably be Tiger Woods because of the way he completely changed the face of golf as we know it.
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Friendly, efficient, hard-working, approachable and focused.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
Travel more and experience more of the world before starting your career.
