Edie Simpson
Trainee Costs Draftsperson
Edie is delighted to be taking her first steps into the legal industry because she’s always been fascinated by criminal law and crime dramas. Having graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2025 with a degree in Law and Criminology, she is looking forward to building on her academic background and personal interest.
A native of Rawtenstall, near Burnley, Edie likes to spend her spare time horse riding, going out for good food and drinks with her fiancé and going for long walks. She also enjoys many weekends in her family’s caravan, which they take all over the country.
What are your main interests or hobbies?
My two biggest passions in life are horses and watching Burnley. Although I’ve not had a horse for around 18 months, I’ve owned four since I was a kid and love riding them and mucking them out. I’m also a loyal home and away follower of Burnley – thanks to my Dad and Grampie’s influence – and matchday is a big family occasion alongside my sister.
What music do you like – any specific genre or artists?
My favourite bands are Coldplay, The Killers, Stereophonics, Taylor Swift, Blossoms and Oasis – and I’ve seen them all live in concert.
What’s your favourite food?
My favourite food is probably really good pub-style food, and I particularly like a cheese and bacon burger.
Do you have a favourite book and why?
I love to read anything by Anne Cleaves, a great murder mystery writer who sets her stories in the North East.
What TV show, film or boxset would you recommend to others?
I absolutely love Line of Duty and could watch it on a loop. Greece is my favourite film because it’s just a great feel-good movie that I always used to watch with my mum. The same goes for Harry Potter.
Do you have a favourite holiday destination or place you’d love to visit?
Me and my family went on a Californian road trip which was amazing. We went from San Francisco to Vegas, visited the Grand Canyon, Scottsdale and Monterey before heading to LA and Santa Barbara.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
Don't stress too much or overthink things. It'll all be fine in the end.
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Friendly, approachable, outgoing, organised and driven.
