ALL the new rules governing the Extension to Fixed Recoverable Costs will be dissected when we stage a specialist Costs Conference next month.

Held in association with Parklane Plowden Chambers on June 6, the event should provide the perfect opportunity to debate and discuss the October reforms which will soon be applicable to most Civil Litigation cases.

Hosted by directors Lee Carter and Jon-Paul Burnett, our very own Solicitor Advocate Seamus Kelly and Senior Costs Draftsperson Sean Linley will be joined by Barrister Stuart Jamieson, from Parklane Plowden Chambers, as the headline speakers.

A specialist in high-value, complex clinical negligence and personal injury disputes, The Legal 500 says Stuart “always provides top quality, down-to-earth advice" in any area of PI and medical negligence. He undertakes both Claimant and Defendant work and is regularly instructed by leading national law firms.

The event will take place at 19 Westgate in Leeds from 5pm on Tuesday, June 6.

With changes to Fixed Recoverable Costs set to apply for claims where proceedings are issued on or after 1 October 2023 (except for personal injury), the Conference is expected to attract a bumper crowd.

Tickets are priced £15 per person and are available on a first come, first served basis.

For an overview of the FRC rule changes, why they might give defendants greater bite and possibly expose claimant practitioners to enhanced risk, take a look at the latest in-depth Extension of Fixed Costs Explained blog from Sean Linley.
