Away from work
Originally from Bradford, Nick now lives with his wife and two children in the seaside town of Teignmouth in the beautiful county of Devon. He enjoys being active, spending time outdoors and going to the beach with his family.
When he’s not busy being a dad, Nick enjoys keeping fit and would love to go to the gym more often. A qualified Karate coach and 2nd Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate, Nick proudly represented England in full contact Karate during his youth. He also enjoys watching football and rugby on TV and is usually accompanied on the sofa by Rossi, his cat.
What music do you like - any specific artists or genres?
I have quite an eclectic taste in music and listen to different stuff depending on my mood – anything from Pit Bull for a gym workout to Andreas Botticelli if I want to zone out and relax. I also love musicals, especially Les Miserables.
What TV show would you recommend to others?
I’m a big fan of crime dramas and like watching Judge John Deed, The Clerks and Inspector Morse.
Do you have a favourite book and why?
I love reading thrillers and would recommend any of the Reacher series by Lee Child – the new TV show is a must-watch too.
What’s your favourite food?
I do love a good steak, but my wife is Romanian and she makes a lovely dish called Carne de porc – a blend of garlic, onions, spices, pork and potatoes.
Which smartphone App could you not live without?
I’m not a massive smartphone addict and I’d much rather have a face-to-face chat, but I do like LinkedIn for updates and staying connected.
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Organised, talkative, strategic planner, quick thinker and a people person.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t worry, go with the flow and try to view all your decisions as a learning experience, rather than as a positive or negative.
