Cherisay Juillet - Trainee Costs Draftsperson
Before joining Carter Burnett, Cherisay worked hard to complete her Law Degree studies whilst juggling a number of part-time jobs – including bar work and teaching as an online tutor in English and law. She is an avid vinyl record collector and enjoys taking pictures of anything beautiful, but mainly sunsets and sunrises (if she is out early enough!).

What's the best thing about working at Carter Burnett?
It’s a fascinating area of the law to work in and we have a very supportive environment. You genuinely feel like everyone celebrates your wins with you. They also support you through any struggles! I enjoy being able to work alongside some really great, understanding and funny people.
What are your main interests or hobbies?
I love reading – so I really enjoy my commute to and from work as it gives me the perfect opportunity to power through my ‘to read’ list! My favourite book is ‘All The Bright Places’ because it touches on serious issues from the perspective of young adults who don’t quite know how best to deal with them.
I also love going to the gym and running as it allows me to connect with the outdoors and enjoy a serotonin boost. I’m working up to running in a marathon but have to master the ability to pace myself.
What’s your favourite food?
I’m obsessed with a good veggie English breakfast.
Who would you most like to meet and why?
I would most like to meet John Keats because he is one of my favourite poets but was never fully appreciated in his life. It was only after his death his works were viewed in a different light.
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Determined, hard-working, organised, thoughtful and energetic.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
People are not judging you nearly as much as you judge yourself. For the most part, everyone is concentrating on their own insecurities – so they’re too busy to find out what yours are!
