Ben Almond - Trainee Costs Draftsman
Ben successfully gained his Law degree from Leeds Beckett University in 2023 and since gained valuable hands-on experience as a project manager in the construction industry. With strong skills in client communication, contract drafting and negotiation, he’s now taking the first step in his legal career. Known for his approachable nature and ability to connect with people, Ben thrives in a dynamic environment and is easy to talk to.
Ben lives in the East Riding village of Thorngumbald, where he enjoys going for walks with Willow, his Sprollie rescue dog. An avid Manchester United fan, who still plays football from time to time, sport and fitness take up a big part of his social life. He’s a regular at the gym and has been playing golf most weekends since he was 12 – which is why he’s now a six-handicap member at Burstwick Golf Course.
What music do you like – any specific genre or artists?
I listen to a wide range of artists and don’t really have a favourite type. One minute I can be listening to some rap music and the next I’ve got Billy Joel on or some other classic oldies – thanks to my Dad’s influence!
What’s your favourite food?
I can cook but I’m never going to be the world’s best chef. I suppose my go-to order is a medium-rare fillet steak with fries and a nice sauce.
What film or boxset would you recommend to others?
I spend most of my time watching, football, darts and sport but the best box set I’d recommend would be Game of Thrones because of its standout storyline. Films wise, I like action thrillers so I’d have to say Seven – it’s a classic.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
Albufeira in Portugal has something for everyone, especially the Old Town which has some great sightseeing spots and quality live music bars. I’d definitely like to visit Las Vegas and New York – they’re on my bucket list.
What smartphone App could you not live without?
I do like WhatsApp for keeping in touch with people but Sky Sports and TikTok are my favourites for keeping me up to date and entertained.
