WE are delighted to announce that Seamus Kelly has been rewarded for the knowledge, expertise and hard work that he brings to Carter Burnett with a place on the board of directors.

Since the official opening of our Newcastle office in July 2021, Seamus has taken on its day-to-day management responsibilities whilst successfully managing his own caseload.

Having first joined us as an experienced solicitor in 2020, Seamus regularly attends CCMCs, oral reviews, preliminary issue hearings and detailed assessments; successfully qualifying as a Solicitor Advocate in March 2021.

He now boasts the same Higher Rights of Audience as a barrister and frequently represents clients in civil courts throughout the country, with particular emphasis on Newcastle and London (SCCO).

In recognition of his excellent work, he has been offered and accepted a Directorship so that he can continue to play a key strategic role in our North East expansion plans.

Commenting on the well-deserved promotion, director Lee Carter said: “Seamus is central to our decision making as a business and it is fantastic to be able to add him to our team of Directors.

“He has a great reputation as a meticulous Solicitor Advocate and he is central to the success and day-to-day management of our Newcastle office.
“We believe his advocacy experience is unrivalled in the Costs environment and we believe his appointment to the board reflect that.”

Founder Jon-Paul Burnett added: “Having Seamus on the board will allow us to plan with more certainty as he will play a key part in our long-term growth plan. We are thrilled he has accepted the position and we’re certain this move will help us go from strength to strength.”

Reflecting on his new professional status, Seamus said: “Lee and Jon-Paul are creating an atmosphere and business that feels really special. It’s a privilege to be part of it and I’m thrilled to have accepted their offer of a directorship.

“I’m looking forward to building upon our early success in Newcastle as we strive to provide the best Costs Law service in the North East.”
