CARTER Burnett is thrilled to mark its first year in Newcastle by continuing to grow and provide quality legal costs services to our longstanding and valued clients. 
Since opening our office in the historic Collingwood Buildings on 1 July 2021, we have enjoyed many memorable moments and secured some excellent results for our clients. 
After months of looking for a suitable location, Seamus Kelly and Sean Linley quickly got their feet under the table to provide expert legal services to our clients and also secured some much-valued new business. 
One of the highlights of the year was the recruitment of three Trainee Costs Draftspersons - Cherisay Juillet, Matthew Cleary and Sam Payne – who have all proven excellent additions to our team. 
Reflecting on a remarkable first year, director Lee Carter is thrilled with how things have panned out so far and has praised the hard work of Seamus and Sean for achieving such accelerated growth. 
Lee said: “Seamus is an excellent Solicitor Advocate who knows his specialist area inside out. He’s also a very good manager and his drive and passion is the reason why our Newcastle office has enjoyed such a memorable first year.

In recent months, our North East team has been further strengthened by the arrival of Deborah Golding, Alison Ward and Chris Donnell, a trio of experienced Costs Professionals who possess a wealth of knowledge and expertise. 
Having set up the business in 2018 with just one office in Beverley, Managing Director Jon-Paul Burnett is thrilled to see things going from strength to strength. 
Jon-Paul added: “Opening an office in Newcastle has been everything we expected and more, thanks to the hard work and commitment of Seamus and Sean. The people we have brought on board have also been excellent, giving us a real blend of youth and experience. 
“Newcastle is fast becoming a real financial and legal base for the North East region and we really wanted to be a fully-integrated part of that. 
“With the team we have in place, we firmly believe we can enjoy further growth there’s every reason to believe we can become the number one Costs Lawyers in the North East. That’s certainly our aim and we’ll continue to work hard to achieve that.”
