Carter Burnett is thrilled to announce Lara Sharp has been awarded a training contract to become our very first Trainee Solicitor – underlining our commitment to the professional development of our staff.

Lara, who is based in our Newcastle office, has worked exceptionally hard since joining in August 2023 and this opportunity is recognition for her dedication and proficiency in Costs Law.

Lara will be supervised by our in-house Solicitor Advocate Seamus Kelly, who also serves as our Training Principal, as we continue to expand the breadth of services we can offer to clients.

A significant investment which reinforces our commitment to growth, Lara’s appointment also marks a major milestone in our own business journey.

Reflecting on the promotion, Seamus Kelly said: “Lara’s much-deserved appointment as a Trainee Solicitor is part of our goal of growing the next generation of legal and costs specialists. We are confident the knowledge and skill she has shown so far will make her an invaluable part of our team moving forward."

“Lara’s transition into this new role will allow her to play an integral part in our growth, and we look forward to seeing her develop in the next exciting stage of her legal career.”

Prior to joining us, Lara acquired valuable experience handling car accident claims for a Legal 500 Law Firm in Newcastle. A graduate of Northumbria University, where she earned her Master's Law Degree in 2022, Lara has a strong work ethic and this new role represents an excellent next step in her promising legal career.

Director Lee Carter added: “Lara is a fast learner and has worked hard to gain an excellent foundation in Costs Law during her time with us. She is a great communicator and we are very excited about what the future holds for her.”
