CARTER Burnett founder Jon-Paul Burnett has paid a glowing tribute to Caroline Walmsley’s hard work and expertise ahead of her retirement at the end of this month.

After a successful law career spanning more than two decades, Caroline will officially become a lady of leisure on April 29.

Having practiced as Solicitor and a Costs Draftsman, she has dealt with some exceptionally complex, important and high-value claims.

It was in 2002, following a spell as a Solicitor at a large law firm in Manchester, that Caroline first met Jon-Paul when joining Alex Milne Law Costing Services, where they quickly became friends.

She joined up with him again at Connect Costs in 2014 before making the move to Carter Burnett upon its launch in 2018.

It is a personal and professional relationship that Jon-Paul values very highly and he will miss working alongside her every day.

Paying tribute to her dedication and expertise, he said: “Caroline is a highly-skilled costs draftsperson and a pleasure to work with. She’s been so helpful to us at Carter Burnett and is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure we give a first-class service to clients.

“Caroline is not just a colleague; she is a very good friend of mine. She is an integral part of the team and will be greatly missed. We all wish her a very happy retirement.”

Whilst Caroline is keen to pursue her many hobbies in retirement, including running a book group and playing the piano, she is especially looking forward to spending quality time with her husband and three daughters.

Having worked with Caroline for around 10 years, director Lee Carter was also full of appreciation for her efforts and said: “It’s been a real pleasure working with Caroline – she is the ultimate professional with superb Costs knowledge.

“I wish her well in her retirement and I’m sure she will love having more time to spend reading and with her book group.”
