EXPERIENCED Costs Lawyer Chris Donnell has become the latest expert to join the rapidly-expanding team at Carter Burnett’s new office in Newcastle.

Since opening in July 2021, the North East branch has created six new jobs and now comprises an eight-person team, following the addition of Deborah Golding and Allison Ward towards the end of last year.

Sam Payne, Matthew Cleary and Cherisay Juillet were recruited as Costs Draftspeople just weeks after moving in to the Collingwood Street office.

Chris, who has over 17 years’ experience in Costs, qualified as a Costs Lawyer in 2011 before gaining a wealth of experience in receiving party costs law. He deals with all aspects of bill drafting and costs budgeting, specialising in High value Claimant Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury costs.

Based in Carlisle, Chris will work closely alongside Seamus Kelly, the experienced Solicitor Advocate who manages our Newcastle office.

Having made another successful senior appointment, Director Lee Carter said: “We are delighted to welcome Chris on board – we’re sure his skills and experience will be a massive asset.

“Seamus is quickly acquiring a really talented and professional team. Chris’ appointment shows our commitment to the Newcastle office and our clients in the North East, adding to the experience of Deborah Golding and Allison Ward.”
