Carter Burnett has signalled their growth ambitions by opening a new office in Beverley – and making a key strategic appointment.

Established in 2018, our specialist law costs consultancy has quickly grown into an East Yorkshire success story and we now employ a team of 13 people in this highly-skilled area of the law.

Having enjoyed rapid growth, we've now moved into a large premise at the Molescroft Farm Estate on Grange Way.

Carter Burnett has also secured the services of experienced advocate and solicitor Seamus Kelly, who has Higher Court Advocacy rights, who specialises in complex clinical negligence and high-value personal injury costs claims.

Growth was expected to be a challenge during lockdown but this was not the case and, as restrictions begin to gradually ease, the owners are thrilled to be entering a new era on such a positive note.

Founder Jon-Paul Burnett said: “Our costs lawyers and consultants represent a wide range of big-name claimant law firms from across the UK and our growing reputation meant we needed more room and expertise.

“Seamus’ arrival strengthens our clinical negligence and personal injury department, which should eventually allow us to expand in a planned and highly-targeted way.

“Moving to a bigger office space in Beverley is a clear signal of our strong confidence in the town – and the long-term future of our business.

“Myself and the team at Carter Burnett have always been keen to grow and be successful and this enthusiasm has not been dampened by the pandemic. I’m confident our new Beverley location and Seamus’ arrival will give us an ideal platform to build upon for the next few years.

“In terms of our growth, it’s important to bring in highly-skilled individuals like Seamus to maintain our exceptionally high service standards.”

Director Lee Carter added: “To successfully arrange the move to bigger premises and the key appointment of Seamus during the recent restrictions has been a complex but rewarding experience.

“We hope it will pave the way for us to extend our footprint into exciting new territories as we bid to establish Carter Burnett as the leading costs lawyers in Yorkshire and further afield in years to come.”

Mr Kelly, who specialises in clinical negligence and high-value personal injury costs claims, previously worked for the NHS legal department in Northern Ireland before relocating to England with MRN Solicitors. He brings a wealth of costs knowledge and experience after managing the Gateshead team at PIC.
