Lara Sharp - Costs Draftsperson
Originally from Manchester, Lara studied for her Law Degree at Northumbria University and successfully graduated with a Masters in 2022.
A positive and outgoing person, before joining us Lara gained valuable experience handling car accident claims for a Legal 500 Law Firm in Newcastle and is now putting her knowledge to good use as she trains to become a qualified Costs Lawyer.
What are your main interests or hobbies?
I love socialising with my friends and can often be found going for walks around the Heaton Park are in Newcastle with my flat-mates or boyfriend. I also like to plan nice holidays and my favourite place to visit at the moment is Puerto de La Cruz in Tenerife, a traditional Canarian town with authentic pavement bars and buildings.
What’s your favourite food?
I really like seafood, and salmon especially, but if I had to choose a favourite meal I’d probably go for Sushi because I love Japanese & Asian food. Nudo Sushi in Newcastle is one of my favourites.
What music do you like – any specific genre or artists?
I do love to listen to a bit of Techno and usually go to LeedsFest and Creamfields every year. I was meant to go to LooseFest 2023 in Newcastle but it was cancelled at the last minute because of heavy rain so we’ll probably go next year now.
Do you have a favourite book and why?
I like to read coaching and motivational books, but my favourite book would have to be Drawing The Line: Science And The Case For Animal Rights by Stephen Wise. It’s a scientific look at animals and why their abilities should entitle them to legal rights, written by a Harvard Professor.
What film or boxset would you recommend to others?
When I’m chilling on a Sunday, my number one comfort show has to be Modern Family. I love it! I also like chick-flicks or movies that are easy to watch.
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Confident, outgoing, hard-working, loyal and kind.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
Stop worrying. Don’t stress. Everything usually works out in the end.
