Catherine Teal - Costs Draftsperson
Having successfully achieved a Law Degree from Coventry University, Catherine is embarking on the latest stage of her law career in Costs.
Friendly and organised, she already boasts a wealth of hands-on experience after previously working in business administration and as a Legal Secretary at a Law Firm in Scarborough.
What are your main interests or hobbies?
As a busy mum of two, juggling family life can be quite hectic but me and my husband like taking the kids on family days out. During the lockdown, I started a baking business making luxury cheesecakes and I still make a few to order. I’m also a bit of a thrill seeker and like throwing myself out of planes for charity skydives.
What’s your favourite food?
I am a big foodie and love eating out at Estabulo in Beverley, a traditional Brazilian restaurant serving freshly-grilled meats and nice choice of salads. I also have a bit of a sweet tooth and do enjoy a homemade chocolate brownie!
Which smartphone App do you like the most and why?
When I get time to sit and relax, I like watching TikTok videos and find some of the clips on there really entertaining.
What film or boxset would you recommend to others?
I’m a big fan of the Reacher series on Prime and love the way that Alan Richter portrays the character. I would also recommend After Life by Ricky Gervais.
What music do you like – any specific genre or artists?
I do have a weirdly extreme taste in music and will listen to anything from the 60s right through to Dance and really like some of the stuff by DJ Timmy Trumpet. I’m also into Country music and Punk Rock.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t underestimate yourself or your own abilities.
